About
The Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI)
The SVRI is the leading global organisation focused on knowledge management around all aspects of violence against women (VAW) and violence against children (VAC). We were founded in 2003 as part of the World Health Organisation and have since become an independent non-governmental organisation.
We are a field building organisation, alongside knowledge management, we also support research and networking around VAW and VAC, through capacity strengthening, research priority setting, grant-making and hosting the bi-annual SVRI Forum.
SVRI Forum
The SVRI Forum, is the key field building event globally on research and knowledge building on VAW and VAC and other forms of violence driven by gender inequality. Every 2years 1000+ multiple and diverse stakeholders come together to share what we know works, what doesn’t and where the field should be heading to end VAW and VAC and build a better, violent free world. For more information on the Forum, visit our Forum page here and see our conference outputs here. Join us!
